Hi, I’m Mrs. Espeseth, teacher, and creator of this website. I’ve been teaching since 1993 and having a blast! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Art (Studio) and Social Studies, a Master’s degree in Multicultural Education, and a credential in Administration. I am a graduate of Cal State Chico and CSU Dominguez Hills.
If you are interested in my other website, go to makelearningstick.wordpress.com.
I currently teach two different subjects at Sussman Middle
School. Social Studies 8 and AVID 7.
Social Studies 8 is all about American History from the colonists landing at Jamestown in 1607 to the end of Reconstruction in 1877. The textbook used in class is The American Journey. In addition to learning about American history, students in my class will learn to use reading strategies, ask questions, analyze evidence and write argumentative essays. My class is jammed packed with activities to make learning fun.
AVID 7 teaches kids how to be better students. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. In class, students learn valuable skills like note taking, how to study, and how to write better. These tools will help anyone get better grades and prepare them for college.
